High/Low Pressure Hydraulic System
Harris Tandem System design, coupled with a high-low system provides higher oil flow at lower pressures giving greater ram speed at times when little or no force is required.
Hydraulic Vane Pumps
Vane pumps now have a design rating up to 4500 PSI. Harris utilizing system design of 3500 PSI. This reduces shock while providing longer pump life. Vane pumps can be repaired, on site.
Efficient Power Unit
Harris employs more efficient hydraulics which require less power to operate the system while maintaining high production rates. The hydraulic system has less components reducing system maintenance.

Side Squeeze Compression Box
The Harris “Side-Squeeze” box is designed to process multi-materials such as freight car sections, ship scrap, skeletal plates, and auto bodies. Also handles large volumes of light weight materials. Versatility any yard would find valuable.
Long Compression Box
The longer compression box is able to handle material which requires less preparation prior to loading.
Compression Box Design
The Harris “Side-Squeeze” box design offers higher compression forces, perfect for crushing material to manageable sizes.

The SS Shear frame construction is considerably heavier than comparable machines. The heavier frame adds to longevity and reduces the possibility of problems associated with shearing thick materials.

Easy Resurfacing
The SS Shear features replaceable wear liners in the shear frame and charge box. Wear liner replacement can renew the machine and increase overall machine life.

External gib & blade adjustments remove the need for shims and create and easier and safer adjustment scenario.
Total Control
The Harris SS Shear features a fully programmable controller and solid state controls designed to simplify the operation. The Control system also features and PanelView touch screen display which provides an in-depth look into the operation with on-demand system diagnostics.
